The two varieties undergo alcoholic fermentation separately after which the two wines are blended.

It is obtained from a blend of two grapes, Sangiovese and a very ripe Syrah that has been allowed to partially wither. It is a unique product given the fresh fruited flavour of the Sangiovese, combined with the rich sweetness of the Syrah, together they create a wine suitable for a variety of uses. Some residual sugar gives it a certain sweetness without being over sweet.
Vinified by using grapes from the best areas of Chianti, the fruits come primarily from the Rufina region. We produce this wine for early drinkability: however, we find our Chianti can be cellared for a few years. It marries with grilled meat, “Ribollita Toscana”, young Pecorino cheese very well.

“Indicazione Geografica Tipica” wine, whose grapes come from the most suitable areas of Tuscany. Fruity scented wine, with cherry, strawberry and little red berry aromas typical of young Sangiovese wines, our “Poggerissi” should be enjoyed when young, although it owns enough structure to be cellared for a short time. Very good match with meat appetizers, first dishes with light sauces, grilled meats.

It is obtained by 100% Sangiovese grapes, by separating the must from the skins right after a few hours of contact, as soon as it has absorbed a pinky colour. The wine, which is richly scented and with a light sweet finish in the mouth, can be enjoyed as an aperitif or can be matched with appetizers, firt dishes with simple sauces, fresh cheeses and fish in general.
Blend between Sangiovese grapes in same percentages, principally coming from the area of Rufina and surroundings. This wine is aged in French oak barrels, previously used to produce the “crus” of Fattoria di Basciano. Both the smoothness and the excellent tannic structure make this wine enjoyble since its release: anyway, it reaches the complete maturity after a medium-long ageing. The annual production is of about 50.000 bottles.

We created "IL BASTARDO” by blending a Tuscan wine produced from Sangiovese grapes and a Sicilian wine obtained from Syrah grapes. It was born with the aim of creating a wine that could maintain the principal characteristics of a Tuscan Sangiovese, yet at the same time enhancing it with the addition of a Sicilian Syrah. The fruityness of its aromas and the smoothness in the mouth make IL BASTARDO an ideal wine to drink by its self, but it is also very well suited to a wide range of dishes.
La Bastarda was created by blending a Tuscan white wine produced with Trebbiano grapes and a Sicilian wine obtained from Moscato grapes. It was born because we wished to create a wine that could maintain the principal characteristics of the Trebbiano Toscano, yet at the same time enhancing its aromatic bouquet by the addition of a Sicilian Moscato. The intense fruity character of the aromas and the pleasant balance between sweetness and acidity make “LA BASTARDA” a nice wine to drink by its self, but it is also very well suited to a wide range of dishes.
