This wine is released after about 30 months of ageing; anyway, more years of cellaring will contribute to develop bothstructure and complexity. Extremely rich and structured wine, we suggest to match it with roasted meats, stewed meats and aged cheeses.
“Vigna Il Corto” is located on the south-eastern slope of the property, on a soil of medium consistence rich in stone, and is composed by 90% Sangiovese Toscano and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Because of the particular characteristics of this veneyard, we have decided to vinify it alone as “cru” since 1993. It matches with roasted meats, stewed meats, game and aged cheeses perfectly.

After several years of testing the growing of non-traditional grape varietes, and then experiencing new blends, in 2003 we found the final “formula” for this wine. Beyond Sangiovese wines, the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah in equal quantities is the best expression of the terroir at Fattoria di Basciano. Very structured and complex wine, it matches with red meats, stewed meats, game, roasted meats and aged cheeses perfectly.
Rosa is a rose’ sweet wine with a light fizz, made by using 100% Sangiovese grapes grown at our Fattoria di Basciano. It was our idea of Reviving the old Tuscan tradition of the “Vin Bianco Dolce”, a sweet and light wine made of white grapes, whose secondary fermentation happened in the bottle. This wine was intended for a familiar use only, to celebrate the Christmas festive season. It is to be served at 13-14° C: when slightly cool, it gives its best aromas and is the perfect choice for creamy pastry, spoon desserts, cakes and ice Cream. It matches perfectly with sweet or bitter chocolate

Our Vin Santo is produced in very little quantity and in the best vintages only, by following the rules of the traditional technique, although slightly modified. This dessert wine is mostly the outcome of the passion, attention and creativity of everyone who contribute to create it. Thanks to its high residual sugar, it is a classical dessert wine, matching with dry pastry, pastry with cream and tarts perfectly. Excellent with blue cheeses, such as gorgonzola and roquefort.
It is obtained by 100% Sangiovese grapes, by setting some of the must apart in the very first hours of maceration, as soon as it has absorbed a pinky colouring. Our Rosato is a fresh, fruity wine with marked floral perfumes, and nevertheless concentrated and consistent.
